We believe that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God.
It was written by men through inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
Although people throughout history have tried to disprove it,
it is evident that God’s Word has prevailed and does not contradict itself.
We believe that there is one triune God,
Represented also in the Son (Jesus Christ)
And in the Holy Spirit.
We believe that Jesus is the Son of God, sent to rescue us from the sin
To which we have enslaved ourselves. Jesus is wholly God and wholly man.
Because He lived a sinless life and fulfilled every prophecy,
He was the perfect sacrifice to atone for our sins. His death on the cross,
And furthermore, His resurrection, is critical to our faith.
We believe that the Holy Spirit was sent to us to live in us,
Empowering us to do the work He has called us to do.
He, like Jesus, is wholly God. The Holy Spirit enables believers
To live godly lives and to understand the revelation of Scripture.
We believe that mankind was created in the image of God,
But because of sin, became alienated from God.
Only by the grace of God, through faith in Jesus Christ alone,
Can a person be restored to a right relationship with God
And be assured of eternal life in heaven with God.

We would love to have you join our membership class to learn more about who we are and more about what we believe as a church!

Creativity is our first core value because everything at Renovation church flows out of it. We are a church who is dedicated to sharing the timeless message of Jesus in a new way. We do not limit ourselves individually or as a church body when it comes to introducing people to Jesus. We will be creative in our methods of sharing the gospel, loving the unlovable, and most importantly investing ourselves in their lives, while keeping the standards God calls us to. The Gospel of Jesus will never grow old or boring at Renovation Church. Jesus’ words are creative and challenging, and thus so should we follow His example. (2 Cor. 5:17)
To be One in Christ requires the whole body to act in one accord in mind, thought, and in love so we can unite together. Our goal is to make sure there is not even a hint of discord in the body, that we may act with love and kindness so we can glorify Jesus Christ and ultimately bring praise to His name. This is made possible through the work of the Holy Spirit in the lives of Christ’s followers, as we unite as brothers and sisters in Christ under a common cause: the sake of the kingdom. (1 Cor. 1:10, Col. 3:14, Rom. 15:5-6)
Jesus commanded his disciples “to take up their cross and follow after Him”. He told them that if they wanted to save their life, they would lose it, and that anyone who loses their life for Him will save it. The crux of the matter? Truly following Jesus requires a life commitment to Him. The cost of true discipleship is beautiful and rewarding, but the journey can be long. It’s important to stay connected with a body of believers so one won’t grow weary while serving the Lord.
At Renovation Church, we are committed to raising up generations of committed followers of Jesus. To do so, we desire leaders who have hearts to invest their lives in others, leading and guiding people to deeper levels of devotion and service to Christ. We believe this is true discipleship. (Matt.16:24-25, Matt. 28:19-20, Gal. 6:9)
Above anything we strive to be, the Gospel remains the center of all we say and do. We exist to preach the good news of Jesus Christ. A watered down gospel has no place in His church. We will go into the entire world and share Jesus boldly and unashamedly.
Our generation values quality, and we want to provide an environment where the church and its ministries are held to a high quality standard. God gives us gifts and talents to use for His glory, and so we desire to use them to the best of our ability. In whatever we do, we desire to do it ALL for the glory of God.

“Becoming all things, to all people, with the unchanging message of the Gospel.”

As 1 Corinthians 9 says, we literally want to be all things to all people. Our mission is to be a church that willingly gives up its wants and needs, preferences and desires, to reach out to an unreached and unchurched generation in the name of Jesus.
St. Joseph is a growing city just north of Kansas City. The city, as it continues to grow, is expanding north, along Interstate 29. St. Joseph has a population of over 75,000 people, with the metropolitan area growing that number to almost 130,000. Although there are many churches in St. Joseph, there are only two churches located in the north end of town. The city is home to Missouri Western State University. Although there are many college students that it attracts, not many of the students are plugged into a local congregation. Many churches have students that go to Missouri Western, and Renovation Church is dedicated to making students a priority. As these students come, we envision them growing in their relationship with the Lord, being discipled, and as they graduate and move on to their career, moving on in life as missionaries. This allows Renovation Church to not only impact the city, but also the nation, and furthermore… the world.
Quite simply, everyone! When you read through Acts, or the whole New Testament for that matter, no one is excluded from the power of the Gospel. We have a specific desire in our own lives to see young adults/families (Millenials) come to know the Lord and get plugged in, but ultimately our desire is to see Jesus begin changing young and old alike.
Here’s what we are committed to NOT do: starting a church full of Christians we’ve convinced to leave their current places of worship. Our desire is that, as we plant and grow, we would begin to reach people outside of a relationship with Jesus, share the gospel with them, and begin to disciple them. We want to follow the model Jesus set before us: reaching the sick as opposed to the healthy.

We believe that God is more concerned with the status of your heart than the style of your clothes, so come any way you want to! Most people prefer to dress casually.
